Map Typography

As the theme of my chosen book is travelling I decided to create the alphabet out of a map as I felt this was appropriate. I found a map and used Photoshop to cut out each individual letter.

This shows I have experimented with using drop shadow for the type as this helps to make it stand out.

Typeface Progress

This post shows the progress when creating the map typeface.

To begin with I found a suitable map from the internet.

I then started to create the letters by drawing out the letters and copying them to a new layer.

Working in the Style of Gipi

To gain a different technique of drawing I looked at Gipi's work which I then tried to incorporate when drawing. This gave me a different approach when tackling the final design as I could use this technique when creating my final piece rather than creating digital drawings. 

Typography Moodboard

I have created a typography mood board so that I can gain ideas related to my theme. I can then use this to relate to when creating my final piece.
