Scamps

To get a better understanding of book covers I decided to do scamps of from secondary research which involved using pinterest to find covers which interested me. I then drew these as scamps which allowed me to understand the concept of a layout. 

Proposition

I created a proposition in order to get a better understanding such as the information I may need to use to create the cover e.g. transport and locations for my chosen book. 

Mind map

The brief was broad as I have to produce a book cover based on the theme, 'Earth, Air, Fire and Water'. Therefore I decided to create a mind map so that I could write down any ideas relating to book covers and the theme. This would help me narrow down which topic I want to focus on the most.  

Similar Artefacts Book Covers

I have researched different books covers covering different audiences e.g. young adults and children. This has allowed me to look at the different styles in typography and illustration which I will considered when creating my own book cover. As I have covered different styles of books e.g. comics and fiction this allows me to look at the different layouts and incorporate them to my book if appropriate.
